Vietnam

Introduction

Vietnam was the NCF's first stop as it opened its door to international collaborations. The international mission team traveled to the capital city of Ho Chi Minh City in 1998, taking the first step into globalizing its services. Aside from the long term partnership with Vietnam, Taiwanese businessmen in Vietnam's extended concern for the local cleft lip and palate medical issues was a real shot in the arm for the NCF's aspiration to help local cleft lip and palate patients and their families. Whether its talent training or international cleft missions, the cleft lip and palate medical care in Vietnam has continued to grow and steadily expanded on the basis of mutual collaborations. In 2006, Vietnam expressed thoughts of establishing a craniofacial center in order to firmly localize cleft lip and palate services. The NCF is currently assisting them by sharing Taiwan's successes with the patients and families in Vietnam.
