National Taiwan University (NTU) and the Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation (NCF), along with eight other non-governmental organizations, jointly launch an internship program called iNGO Academy in March 2023.The program aims to inspire students’ potential and train them to work into NGO industry. The program is taught in English and students will participate in a 16-week internship, integrating both theoretical and hands-on aspects. As part of the internship program, students from 5 countries and 9 colleges will be placed in various types of NGOs in Taiwan, with NCF being among the participating organizations. A NTU student was chosen for a 3-month internship program focused on understanding NCF's international assistance program.

NCF is dedicated to promoting comprehensive medical care for cleft patients internationally. The NCF international assistance program began in 1998. Since then, NCF has collaborated with 9 countries to establish 11 craniofacial medial teams, trained 182 craniofacial medical personnel in 23 countries and helped more than 17,000 patients in developing countries with low socioeconomic status to acquire appropriate surgeries and treatments.

The NCF CEO, Chen I-ling, expressed her delight at being invited to the launching press conference and was pleased to have the opportunity to share the organization's 25 years of international collaboration experience with NTU students. As part of the internship program, the interns will have the chance to participate in NCF's international cooperation-related tasks and attend meetings pertaining to global collaboration projects. Chen I-ling believes that a 16-week internship with the NCF will provide the intern with valuable training in altruistic service and a global perspective. Moreover, she is confident that this experience will broaden the intern's horizons and equip them to play pivotal roles in various organizations, thus enhancing Taiwan's global prominence.
