On August 27, 2023, the “Love Makes Whole” medical mission team traveled 3,417 kilometers from Taiwan to Mongolia to provide long-awaited free cleft care at the National Center for Maternal and Child Health of Mongolia (NCMCH) in Ulaanbaatar.

It may be hard to imagine, but each year in Indonesia, approximately 10,000 babies are born with cleft conditions. Most families only discover their child’s condition after birth. However, there are fewer than 300 qualified surgeons across the entire country. For many families, the greatest challenge is finding a hospital capable of performing cleft surgeries.

The Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation (NCF) and the Craniofacial Center of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital jointly organized the Love Makes Whole Medical Mission Team. From March 23 to 28, 2025, a total of 12 medical experts and staff from Taiwan and DCKH—NCF’s international partner in Germany—visited Vietnam to conduct advanced cleft surgery demonstrations and host medical lectures.
