The NCF received official approval from the Vietnamese government to establish a branch in January 2024 and held its grand opening ceremony in February 2025. The event was attended by Chen Yi-Ling, Executive Director of NCF Taiwan, Dr. Tran Minh Dien, Director of Vietnam National Children's Hospital, Taiwan’s Ambassador Liu Shih-Chung, as well as many children and their families who have benefited from NCF's support, traveling from different provinces of Vietnam to participate.

Amb. Liu Shih-Chung highlighted NCF’s decades-long commitment to helping children and families, expanding its humanitarian care worldwide. Since 1998, NCF has organized 17 medical mission teams to Vietnam, performing life-changing surgeries for many Vietnamese patients, benefiting over 5,400 cases. Liu Shih-Chung expressed his hope that the bond between Taiwan and Vietnam could be strengthened through NCF's support.



During the ceremony, Chen Yi-Ling expressed gratitude to Vietnam National Children's Hospital and its dedicated medical team for their professionalism and compassion in treating patients, restoring hope for countless families. She emphasized that the establishment of the Vietnam branch aims to provide better treatment and comprehensive social support for children in need.



Dr. Tran Minh Dien noted that since 2018, the hospital has partnered with NCF Taiwan, providing approximately six hundred thousand US dollars in direct assistance to children with craniofacial conditions. He also recalled that during the COVID-19 pandemic, NCF donated 10,000 surgical masks to protect the healthcare workers at Vietnam National Children's Hospital.
The opening of the NCF Vietnam Branch marks a significant milestone in enhancing international medical cooperation and providing life-changing support for children in Vietnam. With continued efforts, NCF aims to expand its reach, offering more children access to essential surgeries and a brighter future.
