International Cleft Mission in Vietnam

NCF has been on 70 international Cleft Missions, this was the 13th time being to Vietnam. The Vietnamese hospital NCF partners with is called “The Odonto-Maxillo-Facial Hospital, Hochimin City Vietnam”. We had 7 Taiwanese Practitioners accompanied with us, they were 3 surgeons, 1 anesthetist and 3 nurses. It was a 7 days mission from 23th March to 26th March. Totally, there were 29 patients received the reconstructive surgeries.

Established by Dr. Samuel Noordhoff in 1989, the Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation (NCF) is a non-profit humanitarian organization. Based on the belief of “Love Makes Whole”, NCF dedicates to helping people who have congenital craniofacial deformities, mainly with cleft lips, cleft palates, or both.
NCF began international cooperation programs 18 years ago; the majority partners are local hospitals in Southeast Asia. Mission is to assist the local medical practitioners to be self-sufficient in terms of cleft treatments and be able to establish professional craniofacial centers. Ever since then, NCF has achieved 70 medical missions over 9 countries with free surgeries and related medical care for 1,669 cleft patients, trained 149 cleft medical practitioners of 18 nationalities and transferred 7 international patients with severe craniofacial deformities to Taiwan for reconstructive surgeries …...
