Application Procedure & Documents

  • Pre-evaluation:

       Since NCF aims to select seed medical personnel based on their potential to develop into craniofacial treatment teams and thus choose hospitals which are committed to long-term collaboration, the pre-evaluation is needed before the formal application process. Please provide the following items for pre-evaluation.

1) Complete Curriculum Vitae

2) Statement of Pursepose

A statement of purpose should include a brief description of past related experience or interests in cleft lip and palate care, purpose of applying for the scholarship and future plan after completion of the scholarship.

3) Supporting evidence that you and your hospital are committed to developing a craniofacial center or intend to form a craniofacial treatment team(Formal document/report, website, news report etc.)

Please send the above-mentioned documents to nncf@nncf.org Once you get the pre-approval, you can proceed to follow the application procedure.

 

  • Formal Application Requirements:

Applicants are required to provide TWO sets of the following documents(Hard Copy):

1) Fellowship application Form

2) Complete Curriculum Vitae

3) Copy of Passport

4) Copy of Highest Medical Education Diploma

5) Copy of License for Medical Practice

6) Copy of Certificate of Clinical Experience from Practicing Institution (at least 1 year)

7) Recommendation Letters from two Departmental Heads/Supervisors

8) Passport-Size Photo

9) A Statement of Purpose

A statement of purpose should include a brief description of past related experience or interests in cleft lip and palate care, purpose of applying for the scholarship and future plan after completion of the scholarship.

Applicants should provide the above documents THREE months prior to beginning the fellowship.

  • Fellowship Duration:

Fellows are expected to stay at the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital from two to twelve months, depending on the department's requirement.

  • Terms and Conditions

Monthly stipend

NCF will provide a monthly stipend of USD 600 for medical doctors and USD 500 for other medical professionals.

Leaves for personal reasons during the training period may cause deduction from the monthly stipend. The stipend will be deducted based on the fellow’s number of days of absence.

Transportation cost

NCF has no guarantee to cover applicants’ travel cost from the home countries to Taiwan, depending on NCF's fundraising circumstances.

Once the grants confirmed, NCF will pay for fellows' round-trip, economy class airfare of maximum USD 1,000 upon completion of the fellowship. In addition, we will arrange one pick-up service from the airport to the Chang Gung dormitory on the first day of arrival.

Incompletion:

Fellows who fail to complete the fellowship due to personal reasons will receive partial or no reimbursement for their airfare. For those who complete more than half of the approved fellowship plan will be reimbursed by 50% of the airfare; fellows who complete less than half of the approved scholarship plan will not receive any reimbursement for the airfare.

Please note that NCF has the right to adjust the amount of reimbursement depending on the applicant’s qualifications and the performance during the training period.
